However, tiredness, dizziness or drowsiness may accompany diarrhoea, so it is advisable to be careful when driving or using machines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHow to take:\u003cbr\u003eThe dose of Imodium you should take will depend on your age and the type of diarrhoea.\u003cbr\u003eThe orodispersible tablet should be placed on the tongue.\u003cbr\u003eThe orodispersible tablets are fragile and should not be pushed through the blister as this will damage them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo remove the orodispersible tablets from the blister:\u003cbr\u003e- pull up the edge of the foil\u003cbr\u003e- remove the foil completely\u003cbr\u003e- press to push the tablet\u003cbr\u003e- remove the tablet\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAdults (including the elderly), children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years\u003cbr\u003e- for acute diarrhoea (a sudden episode), take 2 Imodium orodispersible tablets (4 mg loperamide hydrochloride) at once, then 1 Imodium tablet (2 mg loperamide hydrochloride) after each bowel movement. If you have a hard or solid stool or if you have not had a bowel movement for 24 hours, stop taking the medicine.\u003cbr\u003e- for long-term (chronic) diarrhoea, the starting dose is 2 orodispersible tablets (4 mg) per day for adults and 1 orodispersible tablet (2 mg) per day for children; this initial dose should be adjusted until 1-2 solid stools per day are obtained, which is usually achieved with a maintenance dose of 1-6 tablets (2-12 mg) per day.\u003cbr\u003eBut: Do not give more than the recommended dose per day and per kilogram of your child's body weight (3 orodispersible tablets\/20 kg), which should not exceed a maximum of 8 orodispersible tablets per day).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChildren aged 2 to 5 years:\u003cbr\u003eThe orodispersible tablets should not be given to children under 2 years of age.\u003cbr\u003eChildren under 2 years of age: Loperamide hydrochloride is not for use in children under 2 years of age.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eComposition:\u003cbr\u003e- The active substance is loperamide hydrochloride.
