These medicines work by reducing pain, inflammation and fever.\u003cbr\u003eParacetamol is a painkiller that works in a different way to ibuprofen, to reduce pain and fever. This medicine is used for the short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain associated with migraine, headache, backache, menstrual pain, toothache, rheumatic and muscular pain, pain caused by low-grade arthritis, cold and flu symptoms, sore throat and fever.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eContraindications:\u003cbr\u003eDo not take Nurofen Duo Max if:\u003cbr\u003e- you are allergic to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.\u003cbr\u003e- you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAID painkillers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePrecautions:\u003cbr\u003eTalk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Nurofen Duo Max.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:\u003cbr\u003eDo not take this medicine in the last 3 months of pregnancy. It may cause heart and kidney problems in the baby. It may affect your and your baby's tendency to bleed and may cause labour to start later or last longer than expected. Avoid using this medicine in the first 6 months of pregnancy unless your doctor tells you otherwise. If taken for more than a few days, from the 20th week of pregnancy, ibuprofen may cause kidney problems in your baby, which may lead to low levels of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby (oligohydroamnios) or narrowing of a blood vessel (ductus arteriosus) in the baby's heart. If you need treatment for more than a few days, your doctor may recommend extra monitoring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBreastfeeding:\u003cbr\u003eOnly small amounts of ibuprofen and its metabolites are excreted in breast milk. It can be used during breast-feeding, if used at the recommended dose and for the shortest possible period of time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFertility:\u003cbr\u003eThis medicine belongs to a group of medicines that may impair fertility in women. This effect is reversible when the medicine is stopped. Tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or if you have problems trying to become pregnant.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDriving and using machines:\u003cbr\u003eThis medicine may cause dizziness, impaired concentration and drowsiness.\u003cbr\u003eIf you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, do not drive or use machines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHow to take:\u003cbr\u003eAlways take this medicine exactly as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.\u003cbr\u003eYou should not use this medicine for more than 3 days.\u003cbr\u003eFor oral use and for short-term use only (no more than 3 days).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lowest effective dose should be taken for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, talk to a doctor if\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlways take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you have an infection, talk to a doctor if symptoms (such as fever and pain) do not go away or get worse (see section 2).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo reduce the chance of side effects, take this medicine with food.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou should not take this medicine for more than 3 days. If symptoms worsen or persist, or if the medication is needed for more than 3 days, consult your doctor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe recommended dose is:\u003cbr\u003eAdults: Take 1 tablet with water and food, up to 3 times a day. Leave at least 6 hours between doses.\u003cbr\u003eIf one tablet does not control symptoms, a maximum of 2 tablets can be taken up to 3 times a day.\u003cbr\u003eDo not take more than six tablets in a 24-hour period (equivalent to 1200 mg ibuprofen and 3000 mg paracetamol per day).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse in children and adolescents:\u003cbr\u003eDo not use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eComposition:\u003cbr\u003e- The active substances are ibuprofen and paracetamol.
