Indications:
Mucofortin is indicated in adults for the short-term mucolytic treatment of acute respiratory tract disorders (common cold), associated with hypersecretion of thick and viscous mucus. Indicated in adults for the short-term mucolytic treatment of acute respiratory tract disorders.

Contraindications:
Do not take Mucofortin:
- If you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Mucofortin.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid the use of Mucofortin during pregnancy.
A decision must be made whether to discontinue breast-feeding or to discontinue/abstain from therapy with Mucofortin taking into account the benefit of breast-feeding for the child and the benefit of therapy for the mother.

Driving and using machines:

The effects of acetylcysteine on the ability to drive or use machines are unknown.

How to take:

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults: 1 effervescent tablet once a day (equivalent to 600 mg acetylcysteine once a day).

Use in children and adolescents:

Due to the amount of active substance, Mucofortin should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Composition:
- The active substance is acetylcysteine. One effervescent tablet contains acetylcysteine 600 mg.
- The other ingredients are: anhydrous citric acid, isomalt, sodium hydrogen carbonate, ascorbic acid, aspartame (E 951), lemon flavor.
