Levurin 10 sachets – Probiotic for Gut & Vaginal Flora Balance

Presentation:
- saccharomyces boulardii is a yeast resistant to the action of gastric and intestinal juices, antibiotics and sulfonamides, but sensitive to the action of systemic and oral antifungals (the Saccharomyces boulardii Lesaffre CNCM I – 3799 strain from the Levurin® product is genetically identical to the Hansen CBS 5926 strain);
- inulin is a fructose polysaccharide and belongs to the class of carbohydrates known as fructans (inulin from the Levurin® product is a standardized extract with controlled therapeutic potential);
- the combination of Saccharomyces boulardii with inulin is recommended because inulin potentiates the development of yeast and beneficial bacterial species resident in the colon;
- saccharomyces boulardii reaches equilibrium concentrations within 3 days (in the small intestine and colon) and is eliminated within 3-5 days after administration is discontinued because it is not part of the commensal bacterial flora.

Mechanism of action:
Saccharomyces boulardii acts in the intestine by several methods:
- antitoxin effect of pathogens (C. difficile, E. coli, Vibrio cholerae);
- antimicrobial effect;
- trophic action on the intestinal mucosa - promotes the maturation of intestinal mucosa cells;
- anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory action.

Method of administration:
One sachet 2 times / day, simultaneously with the antibiotic, in children older than 3 months and adults.
The contents of the Levurin® sachet can be dissolved in water, tea, fruit juices, yogurt, fruit or vegetable purees, not very cold or hot.

Ingredients:
One Levurin® sachet contains 250 mg of lyophilized powder of Saccharomyces boulardii and 1000 mg of inulin.

Precautions:
It is recommended to take it 4 hours apart from antifungal treatment.
It is recommended to administer with caution in immunocompromised patients and those with central venous catheters.
