Indications:
BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg is indicated for adults and children over 12 years of age and used to relieve mild to moderately severe pain: headaches including migraines, back pain, muscle pain, toothache, joint pain, menstrual pain. It can also be used in case of fever associated with colds or flu.

Contraindications:
Do not use BIOFEN 400mg:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or any of the other ingredients of BIOFEN 400 mg.

Precautions:
Before using BIOFEN 400mg, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy:
Do not take this medicine during the last three months of pregnancy. Avoid using this medicine during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Breast-feeding:
This medicine passes into breast milk, but can be used during breast-feeding if taken at the recommended dose and for the shortest possible time.

Fertility:
This medicine belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that may impair fertility in women. This effect is reversible when the medicine is stopped.

Driving and using machines:
This medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines when used for a short period of time and at the recommended doses. If side effects such as tiredness and dizziness occur, do not drive or use machines.
Drinking alcohol increases the risk of these side effects.

How to take:
Always take BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg exactly as described in this leaflet.
You should ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless your doctor has prescribed otherwise, the doses are: Usual dose

Adults and children over 12 years of age:
The usual dose is one BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg soft capsule (400 mg ibuprofen), taken every 4-6 hours. The maximum dose is 3 BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg soft capsules (1200 mg ibuprofen) in 24 hours. BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg soft capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, preferably after a meal.

Children under 12 years of age:
BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

Elderly patients:
Dosage reduction is not necessary, unless there is renal or hepatic insufficiency; in this case, the dosage should be established by the doctor for each patient individually.

You should discontinue treatment with BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg if:
- the fever continues to increase/persistent for more than 3 days;
- the pain worsens or lasts for more than 10 days.
If you have the impression that the effect of BIOFEN FORTE 400 mg is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

- The active substance is ibuprofen 400 mg.
- The other ingredients are: sodium hydroxide (E 524), purified water, macrogol 400, gelatin (E 441), partially dehydrated liquid sorbitol (E 420), amaranth red dye (E123).
