2 boxes x Modafen Forte 400 mg Ibuprofen Softgels – Pain, Fever & Inflammation Relief

Indications:
Ibuprofen, the active substance in Modafen Forte, belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines provide relief by changing the way the body responds to pain and fever.
Modafen Forte is used in adults and adolescents weighing more than 40 kg (over 12 years of age) for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as: headache, menstrual pain, dental pain, fever and pain associated with the common cold.
You should see a doctor if your symptoms get worse or do not improve • after 3 days in adolescents, after 3 days if you have a fever and after 4 days in the treatment of pain in adults.

Contraindications:
Before taking Modafen Forte, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if:
- you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or mixed connective tissue disease (immune system disorders that cause joint pain, skin rashes and fever).
- you have a certain hereditary blood formation disorder (i.e. acute intermittent porphyria) or blood clotting problems.
- you have or have ever had a bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease).
- you have reduced kidney function.
- you have liver problems.
- you have recently had major surgery
- you have or have had asthma or an allergic disease as breathing difficulties may occur.
- you have hay fever, nasal polyps or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as there is an increased risk of allergic reactions. Allergic reactions may take the form of asthma attacks (so-called analgesic-induced asthma), acute swelling (Quincke's oedema) or a rash.
- are taking other medicines that may increase the risk of ulceration or bleeding, such as oral corticosteroids, blood thinners (such as warfarin), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (medicines for depression) or antiplatelet agents such as acetylsalicylic acid
- have an infection - see the section "Infections" below.

How to take:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the standard dose is:

Dosage:
Adults and adolescents weighing more than 40 kg (aged 12 years and over):
As an initial dose: take 1 capsule (400 mg ibuprofen) then, if necessary, take 1 capsule (400 mg ibuprofen) every six hours. Do not take more than 3 capsules (1200 mg ibuprofen) in any 24-hour period.

Children under 12 years of age and adolescents weighing less than 40 kg
Modafen Forte is not intended for use in adolescents weighing less than 40 kg or in children under 12 years of age.

Route of administration
For oral administration. Take Modafen Forte with a glass of water. Do not chew the capsules.
It is recommended that patients with stomach sensitivity take Modafen Forte with food. If taken shortly after a meal, the effect of Modafen Forte may be delayed. If this happens, do not take more Modafen Forte than recommended at this point or before the correct time for taking a new dose has passed.

Composition:
The active substance is ibuprofen. Each capsule contains 400 mg of ibuprofen.

The other ingredients are: macrogol 600 (E1521), potassium hydroxide (E525), purified water, gelatin (E441), partially dehydrated liquid sorbitol (E420).
