2x Codamin P 20 Tablets – Fast Relief for Moderate Pain, Fever & Headache, Codeine

Indications:
Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, including various types of headache such as migraine and tension headache, toothache, sinus pain, earache, neuralgia and dysmenorrhea.
Treatment of fever, sore throat and relief of symptoms of colds and flu.
Codeine is indicated in patients aged 12 years and over for the treatment of acute moderate pain, which is not considered to be relieved by other analgesics such as paracetamol or ibuprofen (alone).

Composition:
The active substances are paracetamol, caffeine and codeine. Each tablet contains 400 mg paracetamol, 23 mg anhydrous caffeine and 15 mg codeine phosphate hemihydrate.

Directions for use:
Adults, elderly:
Depending on the therapeutic indication, the recommended dose is 1 - 2 Codamin P tablets; if necessary, the dose can be repeated at intervals of 4 - 6 hours. The maximum daily dose of 7 Codamin P tablets should not be exceeded (the maximum dose of codeine phosphate should not exceed 240 mg).
The tablets should be taken with a glass of water or other liquids.
The duration of treatment should be limited to 3 days, and if effective pain relief is not achieved, patients/carers should be advised to consult a doctor.
Children and adolescents:
Adolescents aged 12 to 18 years
Depending on the therapeutic indication, the recommended dose is 1 - 2 Codamin P tablets; if necessary, the dose can be repeated at 6-hour intervals.
The maximum daily dose of 7 Codamin P tablets should not be exceeded.
Children under 12 years of age:
Codeine should not be used in children under 12 years of age due to the risk of opioid toxicity, due to the variable and unpredictable metabolism of codeine to morphine.

Contraindications:
Do not take Codamin P:
- if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- if you have severe liver failure, respiratory failure, increased secretions in the lungs (tracheobronchial hypersecretion), asthma attack, have recently undergone surgery on the bile ducts (codeine increases the pressure in the bile ducts).
- for the relief of pain in children and adolescents (aged 0-18 years) after removal of the tonsils or adenoid vegetations (polyps) for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
- if you know that you metabolize codeine very quickly to morphine.
- if you are breastfeeding.
Children under 12 years of age should not use Codamin P.

Precautions:
Before using Codamin P, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
As it contains codeine, Codamin P should not be used during pregnancy.
Do not take codeine during breast-feeding. Codeine and morphine pass into breast milk.

Driving and using machines:
Due to sedation and decreased reflexes, Codamin P may adversely affect the ability to drive or use machines. Therefore, you should be careful if you are taking Codamin P and driving or using machines.
