Contracept-M, 10 ovules - contraceptive method

Indications:
Contracept-M is indicated for local contraception. This method considerably reduces the risk of pregnancy without completely eliminating it: the effectiveness is higher the more the method of use is followed. The contraceptive method is indicated for women who are sexually active. The special indications are for the following situations:

- temporary or definitive contraindications to other contraceptive measures: oral contraceptives or intrauterine device.
- after childbirth or after abortion, during breastfeeding and during the premenopausal period.
- when episodic contraception is desired.
- during oral contraception if oral contraceptive administration has been forgotten.
- can be used in combination with a local contraceptive (diaphragm).

Contraindications:
Do not use Contracept-M:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to benzalkonium chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:
Before using Contracept-M, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy:
No toxic risks have been reported from the use of this spermicide during pregnancy.
Breast-feeding:
Benzalkonium chloride is not excreted in milk. Therefore, it is possible to use the spermicide during breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines:
Contracept-M has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is one ovule before each sexual intercourse, regardless of the period of the menstrual cycle you are in. Contraceptive protection is provided for approximately 4 hours. In the event of a new sexual intercourse, another ovule is used.
In the event of repeated intercourse, you must use a new ovule each time.
How to use:
The ovule is inserted deeply intravaginally, 5-10 minutes before sexual intercourse, with the patient in a supine position, to ensure optimal dissolution of the active substance.
External toilet immediately after sexual intercourse is done with water only (do not use soap, as it reduces the spermicidal effect).

Composition:
- The active substance is benzalkonium chloride. One ovule contains 18.9 mg of benzalkonium chloride.
- The other components are: solid semi-synthetic fats.
