Dulcolax 5 mg (30 gastro‑resistant dragees) – Overnight gentle stimulant laxative for occasional constipation relief

Indications:
Dulcolax is a contact laxative. When administered orally, in the form of a dragee, or rectally, in the form of a suppository, it induces increased peristalsis by direct action on the colonic mucosa, usually resulting in a soft stool. The product is free of severe side effects.

All forms of constipation, (in bedridden patients; in case of change in diet or environment; due to digestive disorders); promoting evacuation when there is pain, such as in the case of hemorrhoids; preoperatively and postoperatively; preparation of the colon for endoscopic examinations.

Contraindications:
Do not use Dulcolax:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to bisacodyl or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
As with all medicines, Dulcolax should only be taken during pregnancy or breast-feeding if your doctor has told you so. Dulcolax can be used during breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines:
No studies have been performed on the effects of Dulcolax on the ability to drive or use machines.

How to take it:
The recommended dose is:
Adults:
Take 1-2 gastro-resistant tablets (5-10 mg bisacodyl) per day. Start with 1 tablet. The dose can be adjusted up to a maximum of 2 tablets to produce regular bowel movements. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 2 tablets.

Children aged 2 to 10 years:
Take 1 gastro-resistant tablet (5 mg bisacodyl) per day. You should not give Dulcolax to children aged 10 years or younger unless advised by your child's doctor.

Composition:
- The active substance is bisacodyl. One gastro-resistant tablet contains 5 mg bisacodyl.
- The other ingredients are: core - lactose monohydrate, corn starch, modified corn starch, glycerol 85%, magnesium stearate, coating - magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, Acacia gum, titanium dioxide (E 171), methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer (1:1) (Eudragit L100), methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer (1:2) (Eudragit S100), castor oil, macrogol 6000, yellow iron oxide (E 172), white wax, Carnauba wax, shellac.
