Indications:
Inflanor contains ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines work by reducing pain, fever and inflammation.
Adults and adolescents (aged 12-18 years, body weight 40 kg and over): Inflanor is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as:
- headaches (including migraine),
- backache and muscle and joint pain,
- toothache,
- menstrual pain.
Inflanor also relieves acute pain and fever associated with the common cold.
Inflanor 400 mg is recommended for adults and adolescents weighing more than 40 kg (over 12 years).
Contraindications:
Do not take Inflanor:
- If you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Inflanor.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy:
Do not take Inflanor in the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may cause serious heart, lung and kidney problems in the unborn baby.
If used late in pregnancy, it may cause bleeding tendencies in both mother and baby and may weaken the force of uterine contractions, leading to a delay in the onset of labour.
You can use ibuprofen in the first 6 months of pregnancy, but only after discussing it with your doctor and only when clearly needed.
Breastfeeding:
Ibuprofen passes into breast milk but is unlikely to have an effect on the breastfed child when used for short-term treatment. However, if longer treatment is prescribed, early weaning should be considered.
Fertility:
Inflanor may reduce your chances of becoming pregnant. You should inform your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or if you have problems becoming pregnant.
The medicine belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that may impair fertility in women. This effect is reversible when the medicine is stopped.
Driving and using machines:
Ibuprofen generally has no adverse effects on the ability to drive or use machines. However, at high doses, side effects such as tiredness and dizziness may occur and the ability to drive or use machines may be impaired. This effect is enhanced by the concomitant consumption of ethyl alcohol.
Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults: if after 3 days in case of fever or migraine or after 5 days in case of pain you do not feel better or you feel worse, you should consult a doctor.
Children and adolescents: if in children and adolescents the administration of this medicine is necessary for more than 3 days or if the symptoms worsen during treatment, you should consult a doctor.
The dose of ibuprofen in children and adolescents depends on the age and body weight of the patient.
