Mibazon 36 g Ointment, – Veterinary Antib & Anti-Inflammatory Treatm

Indications:

Tetracycline is an antibiotic with a bacteriostatic effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria; it acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through reversible binding to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit.
Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic with a bacteriostatic effect against Gram-positive bacteria (*Staphylococcus*, *Streptococcus* spp.), *Mycoplasma* spp., and *Rickettsia* spp.; it acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through reversible binding to the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit.
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic with a bactericidal effect against Gram-negative bacteria (*Escherichia coli*, *Brucella abortus*) and Gram-positive bacteria (*Streptococcus* spp.); it binds irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and causing cell death.
Prednisolone (delta-1-hydrocortisone) possesses anti-inflammatory and lympholytic properties and stimulates hepatic glycogenesis; it is used for its anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects.
Due to its three constituent antibiotics, Mibazon is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, *Mycoplasma* spp., and *Rickettsia* spp. associated with skin, ocular, and mammary gland infections. Mibazon is indicated for the treatment of skin conditions (abscesses, fistulas, wounds), keratitis, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, and mastitis caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria susceptible to tetracycline, erythromycin, and neomycin in cattle, dogs, and cats. Prednisolone acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and facilitates the penetration of the three antibiotics into the affected tissues. Composition:

100 g of Mibazon ointment contains:

tetracycline 2.50 g,
erythromycin 1.20 g,
neomycin sulfate 1.20 g,
prednisolone 0.06 g,
excipients: hard paraffin, aluminum stearate, liquid paraffin.
Contraindications:

Mibazon 36 g Ointment must not be administered to animals with known hypersensitivity to the antibiotics contained in the product.

Administration and dosage:

Treatment of skin conditions in cattle, dogs, and cats: apply a thin, continuous layer of Mibazon to the previously cleaned and disinfected affected area 2–3 times daily, depending on the severity of the case, until healing occurs.
Mibazon 36 g Ointment is used to treat eye infections in cattle, dogs, and cats: introduce the ointment into the conjunctival sac 1–3 times daily, depending on the severity of the case, until healing occurs.
Treatment of mastitis in cows: introduce 1/6 of the tube's contents—using the provided nozzle—through the teat canal into the affected quarters, which have been previously milked and cleaned with a disinfectant solution. Massage the udder and do not milk for 24 hours; then repeat the treatment, using a new nozzle for the ointment tube. Recommendations for proper administration:

To ensure successful treatment of mastitis in cows, proceed as follows: isolate sick animals from healthy ones and implement hygiene measures.
Disinfect the sick animal's udder and the milker's hands before milking.
Keep the tube in warm water (35–40°C) before use to facilitate the administration of the medication.
Sterilize the applicator tip by boiling.
Affected quarters must be milked only after the healthy quarters; the milk must be collected separately and must not be used for human or animal consumption.
Attach the polyethylene applicator tip to the medication tube.
Using gentle handling to avoid injuring the mucosa, insert the applicator tip through the teat orifice and squeeze the tube until one-sixth of its contents has been deposited as close to the base as possible.
Withdraw the applicator tip, place it in a container with disinfectant, and then destroy it.
Gently massage the udder after administering the medication.
If treatment is initiated early, two administrations of Mibazon are usually sufficient for recovery. For cases of mastitis progressing toward a chronic state, continuing treatment for 3–4 days is recommended. In more severe cases, combining this with systemic antibiotic or sulfonamide treatment is recommended.
Withdrawal period:

Meat – 28 days,
Milk – 7 days after the last administration.
