Indications:
Orofar Intensiv contains flurbiprofen. Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which work by changing the way the body responds to pain, inflammation, and high fever.
Orofar Intensiv is used for the short-term relief of throat symptoms—such as pain, irritation, and swelling—and difficulty swallowing in adults aged 18 years and older.
If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days, you must consult a doctor.
Contraindications:
Do not use Orofar Intensiv if:
- you are allergic (hypersensitive) to flurbiprofen or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Orofar Intensiv.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility:
Pregnancy:
Oral forms (e.g., tablets) of flurbiprofen can cause adverse reactions in the fetus. It is not known whether the same risk applies to Orofar Intensiv.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Do not use Orofar Intensiv during the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy, you should not use Orofar Intensiv unless clearly necessary and recommended by your doctor. If treatment is required during this period, the lowest dose should be used for the shortest possible time.
Breast-feeding:
This medicine is not recommended if you are breast-feeding.
Fertility:
Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines that may affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible upon stopping the medicine. Occasional use of this medicine is unlikely to affect your chances of becoming pregnant; however, tell your doctor before using this medicine if you have difficulty becoming pregnant.
Driving and using machines:
This medicine should not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
However, dizziness and visual disturbances are possible side effects of NSAIDs. If you experience these symptoms, do not drive or use machines.
Orofar Intensiv contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per dose, i.e., it is essentially "sodium-free".
This medicine contains 0.14 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each dose. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine is equivalent to less than 0.0035 ml of beer or 0.0014 ml of wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects. Orofar Intensiv contains flavourings with d-limonene, citral, and eugenol, which may cause allergic reactions.
Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Recommended dose:
