Rompirin 30 Tablets – Antiplatelet Cardiovascular Treatment

Indications:
Rompirin E inhibits blood platelet adhesion and aggregation, thereby preventing the formation of blood clots (thrombi) (inhibition of platelet aggregation).

Rompirin E is used:
- to reduce the risk of mortality in patients with suspected acute myocardial infarction,
- to reduce the risk of morbidity and mortality in patients with a history of myocardial infarction,
- for the secondary prevention of stroke,
- to reduce the risk of transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and stroke in patients who have experienced a TIA,
- to reduce risk in patients with stable and unstable angina pectoris,
- for the prevention of thromboembolism following vascular surgery or surgical interventions, e.g., PTCA (Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty), CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), carotid endarterectomy, arteriovenous shunts,
- to reduce the primary risk of myocardial infarction in individuals with cardiovascular risk factors, such as diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hypertension, obesity, smoking, or advanced age,
- for the prophylactic inhibition of platelet aggregation in cases of coronary aneurysm.

Rompirin E tablets contain low doses of acetylsalicylic acid and are not suitable for reducing inflammation, fever, or pain. These effects are achieved with higher doses of acetylsalicylic acid. Contraindications:
Do not use Rompirin E:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to acetylsalicylic acid, to other salicylates, or to any of the other ingredients of Rompirin E.

Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Rompirin E.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
During the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, Rompirin E may be taken only if recommended by your doctor. During the last trimester of pregnancy, acetylsalicylic acid—the active ingredient in Rompirin E—must not be taken in doses exceeding 150 mg per day due to an increased risk of complications for both mother and child before and during delivery (see also "Do not use Rompirin E"). During the last trimester of pregnancy, doses of up to 150 mg of acetylsalicylic acid per day may be taken only if prescribed by your doctor.

Breastfeeding
Small amounts of acetylsalicylic acid and its active metabolites pass into breast milk. No adverse effects on the infant have been reported to date; therefore, it is not necessary to stop breastfeeding, provided the daily dose does not exceed 150 mg. If higher doses (more than 150 mg per day) are taken, breastfeeding must be discontinued. Driving and using machines:
Rompirin E does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.

Method of administration:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unstable angina pectoris, prevention of recurrent myocardial infarction, after vascular surgery, prevention of transient ischaemic attacks (TIA) and cerebral infarction:
The recommended daily dose is one Rompirin E gastro-resistant tablet (equivalent to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day).

Acute myocardial infarction:
The recommended daily dose is three Rompirin E gastro-resistant tablets (equivalent to 300 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day).

Prevention of coronary artery thrombosis in patients with multiple risk factors:
The recommended daily dose is 1–2 Rompirin E gastro-resistant tablets (equivalent to 100–200 mg acetylsalicylic acid) or the equivalent of 300 mg acetylsalicylic acid every other day.
The tablets should be taken after meals and swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g., a glass of water).

Duration of treatment:
Rompirin E is intended for long-term use. The duration of treatment is to be determined by the doctor.

Use in children and adolescents:
Rompirin E must not be administered to children and adolescents.

- The active substance is acetylsalicylic acid. One gastro-resistant tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.
- The other ingredients are: tablet core – microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinised starch, stearic acid; film coating – methacrylic acid copolymer (Type C), talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), triethyl citrate, anhydrous colloidal silica, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate.
