Octizy Antiseptic Gel 30g – Wound & Skin Infection Protection

Indications:
Octizy gel contains the active substances octenidine dihydrochloride, an antiseptic and disinfectant, and phenoxyethanol, a bactericide.

It is applied repeatedly to the skin as a short-term, supportive antiseptic treatment for superficial wounds in patients of all age groups.

Contraindications:
Do not use Octizy gel:
- if you are allergic to octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:
Before using Octizy gel, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Pregnancy:
Octizy gel should not be used during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding:
It is unlikely that this medicine passes into human milk.
Octizy gel should not be used on the breast area in breastfeeding mothers.

Driving and using machines:
Octizy gel has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Octizy gel contains alcohol (ethanol) and butylhydroxytoluene
This medicine contains 95.2 mg of alcohol (ethanol) per 1 g. It may cause a burning sensation on the affected skin.
Butylhydroxytoluene may cause local skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis) or irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes. Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

This medicine is for use on the skin (cutaneous administration). Apply a thin layer of Octizy gel over the entire area to be treated until it is completely covered.

Wait at least 1 or 2 minutes before performing any further procedures, such as applying a dressing. This time is necessary for the medicine to take effect.

Follow these instructions carefully to achieve the desired effect.
Octizy gel should be used a maximum of three times a day.
Do not use this medicine for more than 2 weeks without consulting your doctor.

Use in children and adolescents:
Due to its topical application, Octizy gel is used in the same way for adults, children, and adolescents.
In children under 6 years of age, Octizy gel should be used for a few days only.

Composition:
- The active substances are octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol. 1 g of cutaneous gel contains 1 mg of octenidine dihydrochloride and 10 mg of phenoxyethanol.
- The other ingredients are 96% ethanol, 85% glycerol, poloxamer 407 (contains butylhydroxytoluene (E321)), and purified water.
