Prosinus 600 mg/12.2 mg 10 Sachets – Cold, Flu & Sinus Relief

Indications:
Prosinus powder for oral solution contains two active substances:
- paracetamol, an analgesic that relieves pain and reduces fever;
- phenylephrine hydrochloride, a decongestant that clears the nose and sinuses.

Prosinus powder for oral solution is indicated for adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over for the relief of flu and cold symptoms, including muscle pain, headache, and sore throat; for relieving nasal and sinus congestion; and for reducing temperature and chills.

Use Prosinus powder for oral solution only if you have flu or a cold accompanied by a blocked nose.
If you do not have a blocked nose, use products containing only paracetamol.

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days of treatment, you must consult a doctor.

Contraindications:
Do not use Prosinus powder for oral solution:
• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to paracetamol and phenylephrine hydrochloride or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Prosinus powder for oral solution.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Prosinus powder for oral solution is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless your doctor considers it strictly necessary. Driving and using machines:
There have been no reports regarding the effect of Prosinus powder for oral solution on the ability to drive or use machines.

Prosinus powder for oral solution contains 35 mg of aspartame (E 951) per sachet. Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine. It may be harmful to people with phenylketonuria, a rare genetic condition in which phenylalanine levels are high because the body cannot eliminate it properly.

Prosinus powder for oral solution contains sucrose (sugar). One sachet contains 2.0498 g of sugar. This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before using this medicine.

Prosinus powder for oral solution contains 100 mg of sodium (the main component of table salt) per sachet. This is equivalent to 5% of the recommended maximum intake.

Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage:
Use in adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over:
The recommended dose is the contents of one sachet every 4–6 hours. Do not take more than 5 sachets in 24 hours. The maximum daily dose must not exceed 4000 mg of paracetamol and 60 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride.
The medicine should not be used for more than 3 days without medical advice.

Method of administration
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a mug of hot water (approximately 250 ml) and drink when it reaches a suitable temperature.

Special patient groups:
Children:
Cold and flu medicines containing phenylephrine hydrochloride are not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age without medical advice.

Hepatic impairment:
In patients with hepatic impairment or Gilbert's syndrome, the dose must be reduced or the dosing interval extended.

Renal impairment:
In cases of severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 10 ml/min), the dosing interval must be at least 8 hours.

Elderly:
There is no indication that the dose needs to be modified for elderly patients.
Medical supervision is recommended if symptoms do not improve or worsen after 3 days of treatment with Prosinus powder for oral solution.

Composition:
- The active substances are: paracetamol and phenylephrine hydrochloride. One 4 g single-dose sachet of powder for oral solution contains 600 mg paracetamol and 12.2 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride (equivalent to 10 mg phenylephrine base). - The other ingredients are: ascorbic acid, sucrose (sugar), anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium saccharin (E 954), aspartame (E 951), lemon flavouring type 1013043 (flavouring preparations, natural flavouring substances, dextrose, acacia gum, maltodextrin, butylhydroxyanisole (E 320)), anhydrous colloidal silica.
