5 sachets x Gold Varroa – Varroa Mite Control Strips for Honeybee Colony Health & Parasitic Protection

Gold Varroa is recommended for combating the parasite Varroa jacobsoni and Varroa Destructor, with an efficiency confirmed at the Apimondia 2017 conference in Istanbul.

Due to the method of application, the manufacturer says that this product leaves no traces in the hive either after applications in the spring or after applications in the autumn. However, Dr. Radu Pandrea as an expert in beekeeping, recommends using the product with caution following a technology that excludes application during honey harvesting.

Ingredients: 30% thymol, 20% peppermint oil, 20% za'atar oil, 20% sunflower oil, 10% bay oil, 3 mg flumethrin

Directions for use:
Open the package before administration. The product must be used within 5 days after opening the package, with the mention that it must be stored at a temperature below 10 degrees Celsius in the absence of light.

The product is administered in the spring, after the first inspection and in the summer - autumn period, after the extraction of the honey product, by placing the strips in the hive. With caution, it can also be administered in the active season, between honey harvests; in this case, the treatment must be completed at least 5 days before the start of the next harvest, so the strips will be placed in the nest 12-15 days before the start of nectar secretion, and the elimination of the product from the hive will be checked 5 days before the start of harvesting.

In his own apiary, Radu Pandrea tested the product from autumn 2018 until autumn 2020, observing the following:
- colonies that cover 5-6 nest frames with bees, need to place a single strip of the product.

- for an effective treatment of hives that populate between 7-9 nest frames, one and a half strips are administered
- hives populated on more than 10 nest frames, two strips of Gold Varroa are administered.

In order to be administered, the internal temperature in the hive should be at a value that allows the bees to be active (i.e. above 15 °C). This means that the external temperature must be above 10 degrees Celsius during the day and above 6 degrees °C at night. If the product is used when the external temperature exceeds 25-30 °C, the bees gnaw the strips faster.

WARNINGS:
- Do not overdose/underdose the product
- Use protective gloves
- During administration, compliance with safety measures for handling medications is mandatory. Do not smoke or consume liquids or food during treatment.
- After you have finished administering the treatment, wash your hands with soap and plenty of warm water.

In case of accidental contact of the treatment with the skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

In case of allergic reactions or ingestion, contact your doctor immediately (have the treatment leaflet with you).

- Keep the product out of reach of children.

- Do not use the product after the expiry date.

Storage conditions: Store in the manufacturer's sealed packaging in areas protected from moisture and sunlight, separate from food and feed, at temperatures between 0-25 °C.

Expiration date: 3 years from the date of production.

Packaging: In a hermetically sealed bag weighing 100-110 g there are 10 impregnated strips.

Useful information:
According to the degree of impact on the body, thymol is classified as a substance with moderate danger. In the recommended doses and methods of administration, it does not pose a danger to bees and does not affect the general condition, development or productivity of bee colonies.
