Incorrect dosing may promote the development of resistance to anthelmintics. All clinical cases suspected of anthelmintic resistance should be further investigated using appropriate tests (copro-parasitological tests). If test results clearly suggest resistance to a particular anthelmintic, an anthelmintic belonging to a different pharmacological class and with a different mode of action should be used for treatment.
